Well, they are in this household. Between my addiction to the Love and Decay novella series by Rachel Higginson, and my husbands addiction to the Walking Dead on AMC, rarely does a week go by that we don't discuss our zombie apocalypse, plans.
Of course, those plans have always assumed that zombies are dead, soulless, flesh-eating creatures--Undead beings that have left behind their humanity along with their pulse.
But what if they aren't? What if zombies were capable of being cured... and not like in I Am Legend where the zombie-like creatures are still mindless and after your brains. I mean people that just so happen to have an infectious disease that makes them look and smell... ahem... dead.
That's the case in Jo Michaels new book~I Zombie. This unique tale is about Trixie Collins. She's a 17yr girl, attached at the hip to her hunky best friend, Jack, and has rotting, noxious skin.... That's right, she's a zombie. Gross, oozing, craves the raw flesh of animals, she has the one-of-a-kind ability to telepathically communicate with her fellow zombies-like people. This especially comes in handy when she and Jack decide save the fellow-infected after the government puts a bounty on the head of every person infected.
Two-parts horror, one-part romance, this book is a great addition to any persons electronic book shelf. Just be careful, this book might just break your heart a little....
